Job Description

 Safely utilize welding equipment, including oxy fuel torch, plasma torch, magnetic drill, and track torch
•    Mark all items per Operation Procedures to allow for traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
•    Create individual cut list per job to correctly cut and prep materials
•    Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, tape measure, and more
•    Read and interpret shop work orders
•    Receive materials, parts, or components issued to a Work Order
•    Verify that all materials and consumables meet the design and shop requirements.
•    Label materials with Heat Numbers and Part Numbers following company procedures.
•    Properly and safely load and unload materials/parts using hoist, forklift, and or by Manual means
•    Properly store all raw materials in the designated areas
•    Transfer all finished parts to appropriate departments
•    Ensure safe and clean appearance of fabrication shop in designated area
•    Ability to work safe in a yard and shop environment while wearing appropriate PPE, follow company guidelines and procedures and help ensure others do the same
•    Ensure all actions are performed in accordance with Company standards to include safety, conduct, and proper use of company resources
•    All other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
•    Pass a written test dealing with a fitter’s proficiency
•    Pass a physical test fitting beam and pipe.
•    Pass a physical test from above from verbal instructions
•    Possess the items listed in the Tool List
•    Ability, knowledge, and skill to perform intermediate weldment assemblies
•    Ability to keep yourself and others productive and accountable while adhering to company safety guidelines and procedures.
•    Possess the items listed in the Tool List
•    Interpret fabrication drawings with 80% proficiency to ensure compliance to weld design
•    Proficient at assembling and disassembling of parts and components required to complete the job scope.
•    Layout pipe and structural steel items per design
•    Tack weld using multiple welding processes
•    Read, add, subtract and understand fractions and decimals
•    Use and understand weld symbols, sizes, abbreviations, notes, and grades
•    Remove all sharp edges and burrs
•    Utilize the following tools with 100% proficiency: 
o    Tape measure and square
•    Utilize the following tools as described
o    Cutting torch: Lay out and hand cut 
o    Magnetic Drill: Lay out and drill holes  
o    Track torch: Bevel steel plates 
•    Safely utilize a crane, hoist, and forklift 
•    Using different types of soldering, Mig, flux core, or stick
•    Ensure weld machines are calibrated and ready to use
•    Work on a task both alone and with co-workers as needed to assist in daily activities and delivery requirements
•    Lift and carry 50 pounds independently while walking on uneven surfaces
•    Able to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl
•    Frequent use a variety of hand and power tools to perform a range of mechanically oriented functions including independent use of heavy-duty handheld and long-handled tools
•    Clear vision to judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch, and report ongoing work activities to coworkers and third parties
•    Listen for unusual noises that signify equipment and machinery problems
•    Maintain spatial orientation and awareness to safely move around work environment with many moving objects
•    Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated times
